This Privacy Policy explains how Style2You (Pty) Ltd (“Style2You”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use style2you.shop.

We are committed to complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).
2. What personal information we collect
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, book a stylist, list your services, or contact us. We also collect some information automatically when you use the platform.
2.1 Client-specific data
If you are a client booking a stylist, we collect:

If you are a stylist offering services through Style2You, we collect:

2.4 Information we intentionally do NOT collect
- Passwords – stored only as secure hashes, never readable.
- Government ID images – currently not collected. If we later introduce ID verification, we will do so through a third-party verification service that only returns a yes/no result, and we will update this policy.
- Payment card details – PayFast handles card data; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Background location tracking – we do not track your location in the background.
3. How we use your personal information
We process personal information only for specific, lawful purposes. The legal basis under POPIA is shown in brackets.
3.1 To provide and manage the platform
- Create and manage your account (contract)
- Facilitate bookings between clients and stylists (contract)
- Process payments and payouts (contract)
- Send booking confirmations, reminders and updates (contract)
- Allow stylists to create listings and clients to search and book (contract)
3.2 To improve and secure the platform
- Analyse usage, search trends and performance (legitimate interest)
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access (legitimate interest)
- Fix bugs and troubleshoot errors (legitimate interest)
- Maintain backups and system logs (legitimate interest)
3.3 To build trust and quality
- Display ratings, reviews, badges and completion rates (legitimate interest)
- Resolve grievances and disputes (legitimate interest and legal obligation)
- Verify stylist profiles and qualifications where relevant (legitimate interest)
3.4 For direct marketing
- Send you marketing emails or SMS messages about promotions, new features, or stylist offers only if you have opted in (consent)
- Share your details with selected third-party brands only if you separately opt in to that (consent)
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any marketing message, updating your account settings, or emailing smamidzha@gmail.com.
4. Who we share your personal information with
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only as follows:
4.1 With other users
- To stylists: When you book, we share your name, contact details, service address, booking preferences, and any intake answers you provided so the stylist can provide the service.
- To clients: When you list services, your public profile, gallery, ratings, and service details are visible to clients.
4.2 With service providers
- PayFast – processes payments. We share booking ID, amount, and payment reference. We do not see full card numbers.
- Hosting provider – stores the website and database.
- Analytics providers – for aggregate usage insights.
- Email/SMS service providers – for transactional messages and marketing campaigns.
- Accounting/tax services – as required by law.
4.3 With regulators or law enforcement
We may disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or a valid request from a regulator such as the Information Regulator or the National Consumer Commission.
4.4 With your consent
We may share your information for any other purpose if you have given explicit consent.
5. Direct marketing
We will only send you direct marketing by email or SMS if you have actively opted in.
- Opt-in checkboxes are unchecked by default at registration.
- You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Every marketing message contains an unsubscribe link.
- You may also update your preferences in your account settings.
If we obtain contact details from a source other than you, we will tell you where we got them and provide a link to this Privacy Policy, as required by POPIA.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember favourites, and track referrals.
We use:
- Necessary cookies – essential for login, security and core functionality.
- Functional cookies – remember preferences like favourites.
- Analytics cookies – understand how users interact with the site.
- Marketing cookies – if enabled, help us deliver relevant advertising.
When you first visit the site, a cookie banner appears. You may accept all, reject all, or customise settings. Rejecting non-essential cookies will not block your access to the site.

7. International data transfers
We do not intentionally transfer personal information outside South Africa.
We do not share personal information with international data brokers or international third parties for their own use.
If we ever need to transfer personal information outside South Africa, we will update this policy and ensure appropriate safeguards as required by POPIA.
8. How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary:
- Account information – for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deactivation for legal and tax purposes.
- Booking and payment records – at least 5 years for tax and financial compliance.
- Marketing consent records – retained for 3 years after you withdraw consent, for audit purposes.
- Grievance and dispute records – retained until the matter is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter.
After these periods, we securely delete or anonymise the information.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including:
- Passwords are stored as secure hashes, never in plain text.
- Payment card details are handled by PayFast; we do not store full card numbers.
- Access to personal information is restricted to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- We do not collect or store government ID images.
- We conduct regular security reviews and use access controls.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
10. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests, or where processing is for direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

11. Children’s privacy
Our platform is intended for persons aged 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided personal information, we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on style2you.shop. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the platform.
